Twelve years, six units, one philosophy.
Steven Schafer has spent 12+ years managing his own rental portfolio — six units over four properties — while holding down a full-time corporate career and raising a family. Through trial, error, and a lot of expensive lessons, he distilled what works into a practical, repeatable system.
His philosophy is simple: empower landlords to lead with heart — because when you truly care for your tenants, everything else falls into place naturally.

Best Landlord Ever (BLE) was built from real experience — more than a decade of managing multiple rental properties while working full-time in the corporate world. After twelve years of balancing both worlds, we saw firsthand how challenging it can be for landlords to support their tenants, generate consistent income, and stay compliant with ever-changing legal requirements.
Too many landlords are left to figure it out alone, without a true partner who understands the operational, legal, and human sides of rental housing. We created Best Landlord Ever (BLE) to become the real estate partner we always wished existed.
